FXCM UK (Stratos Markets Limited) has agreed to transfer its client business to Trade Nation, a UK broker authorised and regulated by the FCA. The transfer will take place in November 2026. FXCM UK will write to FXCM account holders with the details, options and dates that apply to them.
No. If your account is scheduled to transfer to Trade Nation, please do not open a new account before your migration date, this will be done for you automatically. Opening an account early may complicate the transfer process. We will contact you when action is required and provide everything you need to access your account. In the meantime, you can explore Trade Nation and the new platform using the links on this page.
Trade Nation is a specialist in spread betting and CFD trading, headquartered in London and authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority since 2014 (FRN 525164). It is part of a global group with additional regulated operations in Australia, Portugal, South Africa, the Bahamas and the Seychelles, and was named Best Forex and CFD Broker UK at the TradingView Broker Awards 2025. Clients trade forex, indices, commodities, shares and bonds, as spread bets or CFDs.
Value-for-money pricing is built around fixed spreads with no separate commission on TN Trader and TradingView, with a variable option available on MT4, so the cost of a trade is clear before you place it. You can trade on TN Trader, Trade Nation's own web and mobile platform, on MT4, or directly from TradingView. Client money is held in segregated accounts with Tier 1 UK banks and eligible claims are protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme up to £85,000 per person. Trader support is available 24/5 by chat, phone and email.
When your account transfers your FXCM account will close and a new Trade Nation will be created, your balance moves automatically and in full, and client funds remain in segregated accounts throughout. FSCS deposit protection covers you for eligible claims up to £85,000 for investment firms.
Nothing today. If you hold opens positions, they will be liquidated by FXCM at the close of business on Friday 20th November. Your funds will then transfer to your new Trade Nation account.
Per se elective professional clients and retail clients are included in the transfer. If you hold a TTCA with FXCM UK, your funds will be added to the client segregated funds being transferred. Trade Nation does not require a TTCA as part of its professional offering, your funds are segregated.
Yes. If you opt out, your FXCM UK account will be closed and your funds will be available to be returned to you. FXCM UK will explain the process in its 6th October email.
FXCM UK will email every client on 6th October with full details and your options. If you do not receive it, check your spam folder and make sure FXCM UK has your current email address.
Yes. Before the transfer date, if it is to do with your FXCM UK account, it is FXCM’s support team as usual.
If you have questions about Trade Nation’s offering, or when your new Trade Nation account is ready, please contact our support team by emailing support.uk@tradenation.com.
We will only send information and links by email or through the client portal. We will never contact you by sms/text about this transfer. Whenever we do speak to you, we will never ask you to move money or share codes. If anyone does, do not act on it.
No. Nothing changes today. Keep using your FXCM UK account exactly as you do now. Your transfer will seamlessly complete on your transfer date.
Yes. Funds are held in segregated client money accounts throughout, with Tier 1 UK banks. FSCS deposit protection covers you for eligible claims up to £85,000 for investment firms.
Yes, in full, on your transfer date. No action is needed.
Yes, at any time before your transfer date, in the usual way. Withdrawals from your FXCM UK account operate as normal until then, and whatever remains transfers automatically. After your transfer date, deposits and withdrawals are handled through your Trade Nation account.
You can close your positions and withdraw your funds at any time before your transfer date, but withdrawing on its own does not stop the account transfer. To make sure your account is not transferred, you must also complete the opt-out form sent by FXCM UK.
Multiple payment methods are supported and requests are processed promptly. Trade Nation charges no deposit fees and no withdrawal fees of its own. The payment methods available on your account are set out in your Trade Nation welcome communication and on the Trade Nation website.
Yes. At FXCM UK you trade spread bet positions in contracts and lots. At Trade Nation you trade an amount per point. Your new Trade Nation account will be in your FXCM UK account currency.
There are benefits to trading an amount per point, including no underlying currency risk on your position, but it is worth understanding the change before you trade.
For example, if you hold a GBP spread bet account at FXCM UK, buying 10 contracts of US30 gives you a notional exposure of around USD 53,500 at current prices, and every one-point move is worth USD 1. When you close the position, your USD profit or loss is converted back to GBP at the prevailing GBP/USD rate.
At Trade Nation, on a GBP spread bet account you choose how many GBP per point to trade rather than how many contracts. Buying GBP 1 per point gives you a notional exposure of GBP 53,500. Because your exposure is denominated in your account currency, there is no currency conversion.
Trade Nation offers spread betting in a range of account currencies, including GBP, USD and EUR.
Yes, but note that Trade Nation does not offer MT4 spread bet accounts, so a TN Trader spread bet account will be created for you and your balance transferred to it. After the transfer, you can create an MT4 CFD account in the Trade Nation client portal and move funds into it if you wish.
Your FXCM UK open positions are closed as part of the transfer. It is worth understanding what that means for you.
Profits from spread betting are typically not subject to capital gains tax or stamp duty in the UK, and the transfer does not change that. Closing a CFD position is typically a disposal for capital gains tax purposes, so the transfer may crystallise a gain or a loss in the current tax year.
Neither FXCM UK nor Trade Nation can give tax advice, and your own position depends on your circumstances. If you are unsure how the transfer affects you, speak to a qualified tax adviser before your transfer date.
Yes. Your new account at Trade Nation moves onto Trade Nation's pricing, which is not identical to FXCM UK's pricing. Trade Nation offers fixed spreads on FX, index, commodity and bond markets on TN Trader and TradingView, with a variable option on commodities, equities and on MT4, and no separate commission.
Your main cost to trade is likely to be the spread.
Full details of Trade Nation's spreads for each platform are here.
All costs and charge can be found here.
If you are a retail client, the same FCA leverage limits apply at Trade Nation as at FXCM UK, and you keep negative balance protection, so you cannot lose more than the funds in your trading account. Margin rates can differ instrument by instrument — Trade Nation's market information. If you are a professional client, leverage may differ; professional margin rates.
When your account is ready following transfer, Trade Nation will email you a secure link explaining how to set your password. At first sign-in you accept the terms and choose what you would like to hear about. Your account is then ready to trade.
Like FXCM UK, Trade Nation offers accounts on two platforms: its proprietary TN Trader, and MT4. TN Trader accounts connect with Trading View. Accounts will be created at Trade Nation, keeping your account currency, as follows:
1. Trading Station II spread bet accounts to TN Trader spread bet accounts.
2. Trading Station II CFD accounts to TN Trader CFD accounts.
3. MT4 spread bet accounts to TN Trader spread bet accounts.
4. MT4 CFD accounts to MT4 CFD accounts.
Trade Nation does not offer MT4 spread bet accounts.
MT4 is available at Trade Nation, so MT4 users have the smoothest transition and your strategies, indicators and tools carry across. Trade Nation supports EAs.
Trade Nation's proprietary platform is TN Trader, available on the web and as iOS and Android apps. TN Trader accounts also link to TradingView.
Yes. Trade Nation has a direct integration with TradingView, so you can execute trades, view your balance and manage open positions from TradingView charts. Following confirmation your new Trade Nation account is active, when you connect a broker in TradingView, choose Trade Nation and link your new TN Trader account.
Nearly all of the markets you trade today are available at Trade Nation, which offers hundreds of instruments across forex, indices, commodities, shares and bonds, on both spread betting and CFDs. Some individual instruments you hold today may not be offered — please refer to the market information sheets.
Locked or restricted accounts holding funds will transfer. After the transfer, Trade Nation will contact you about what is needed to resolve your account status, and you will not be able to trade until it is resolved.
If your accounts are open, locked or restricted they will transfer on the basis outlined above. If you hold multiple accounts at FXCM UK, you will have multiple accounts opened for you at Trade Nation.
Yes.
Your personal data transfers to Trade Nation Financial UK Ltd, which processes it in accordance with Trade Nation's Privacy Policy. As part of the transfer you accept Trade Nation's Terms of Business and Privacy Policy, so please read them in full before your transfer date.

Your FXCM UK marketing preferences do not transfer. At first sign-in with Trade Nation you choose what you would like to hear about.
Your account, balance and personal details transfer to Trade Nation on the transfer date. Your open positions do not transfer and will be closed by FXCM UK.
Complete FXCM UK's opt-out form, which is available by following the links from the email they sent on 6th October. You then need to close any open positions and withdraw your funds. Anything still open on your closure date is closed for you, and remaining cash is available to be returned to your original source of funds where possible.
Contact FXCM UK client services as soon as possible. We cannot guarantee that a late change can be arranged after the deadline, but we will do what we can.
Until your transfer date, FXCM UK's client services team is your point of contact, available 24/5. From your transfer date, contact Trade Nation, whose trader support is available 24/5 by chat, phone and email.

Investment Risks and Considerations

The risk indicator assumes that you may not be able to buy or sell your CFD at the price you wanted due to volatility of the market or you have to buy or sell your CFD at a price that significantly impacts how much you get back. There is no recommended or minimum holding period for this product. You must maintain sufficient margin in your account to keep your positions open. Trading on margin means you could quickly lose the amount invested.
CFDs (Contracts for Difference) are packaged retail investment products (PRIIPs) within the meaning of Regulation (EU) No 1286/2014. They are complex derivative instruments: you do not own the underlying asset.
CFDs are leveraged, which means that small price movements can lead to large losses. Prices can change rapidly, including outside trading hours. Exchange rate fluctuations also affect your results. Trade Nation Europe is the counterparty to your trades, so you are exposed to the risk of the firm defaulting. Spreads, overnight financing costs and other charges reduce your return. Technical failures may delay or prevent the execution of orders.
To protect retail investors, and pursuant to Article 2 of CMVM Regulation No. 5/2019, Trade Nation Europe provides the following protections:
Before investing, read the Key Information Document (KID) for each CFD. The KID sets out the product's features, risks, costs and performance scenarios. KIDs are available, in Portuguese
The legal stuff
CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. Between 74–89% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs. You should consider whether you understand how CFDs work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money.
